Mbake Diom, a villager of Khodjil Baling Village in Senegal, is employed by the Chinese construction company CGCOC group as a well coordinator.
He is responsible for maintaining a new well in his village.
The well, part of the Chinese-funded rural well-drilling project in Senegal, has brought significant changes to local people's lives.
The rural well-drilling project covers 12 of the 14 regions of Senegal.
Each water supply system of the project consists of wells, water towers, pipes and distribution facilities with a maximum daily water supply capacity of 80,000 cubic meters.
The project also created jobs for more than 3,000 local people.
The Eighth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) was held on Nov. 29 and 30 in Senegal's capital of Dakar.
Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed the opening ceremony of the conference via video link, and stressed building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.
